Lately I took some interest in politics
And contested for the local body
Not to play the sullied game politicians play
But to do some good to
The people of Nai Bazar, a small town
But I lost
I lost but have no regrets
They say to learn something
You have to ‘learn to fail or fail to learn’
I failed but what I gained is inestimable
I lost because my campaign was at low key
My thrust was on personal touch
And I met almost ever family of this town
They all showed their allegiance to me
‘Dil Se’ was the leit motif of my campaign
And people developed a fond for it
It was on the tongue of every person
Which way I passed
People smiled and uttered ‘Dil Se’
Here I reproduce it:
Aap Sab Ko Mera Salam Namaste – Dil Se
To all of you Salam Namaste – by heart
Aaiyeye Hamare Saath – Dil Se
Come together – by heart
Aaiye Saath Saath Chalen – Dil Se
Let us march together – by heart
Camera Par Mohar Lagain – Dil Se
Cast your vote on camra - by heart
