Mashad carpets have elegant medallions on floral fields, with color schemes of red or blue.
They sometimes replicate classic Kashan, and sometimes all-over Herati details which may be marketed as Khorassan.

Located in north-eastern Iran, Mashad is the capital of Khorassan province and an important center of the carpet weaving industry. It is also considered the most holy city of Iran, because it houses the shrine of Imam Reza who is very dear to Muslims around the world.
