Kashan rug displayed here is a type of Persian rug. Kashan is a city in Isfahan Province in North Central Iran. Because the design is the product of this city that is why its name is Kashan.

Now this design is very much being produced in India with some alterations. These designs are produced in several part of India. A good quantity of it produced in Bhadohi/Mirzapur belt of UP.

The the pile of rug displayed consists both wool and silk (Silk 20% and Wool 80%) and has 180 kpsi (knots per sq inch).
